"Your hands may be cold, but your heart is not.

And whatever you are, you are still MY son.
Please do not ever forget that you are still human at heart.
No matter what HE says to you, please remember my son, my darling boy.
And promise me that you will not bend to his evil, that you will, at every turn that you can, choose to do good instead?
I love you so very much. And I always will....my sweet, sweet boy."

- Mina Harker on her deathbed to her son Robin

ROBIN JONATHAN QUINCEY HARKER

1895 - BRITISH - MALE

VAMPIRE

6'2"

GREYISH BLUE EYES - DIRTY BLOND

FORMER SOLDIER IN THE BRITISH ARMY (MIA, PRESUMED DEAD)

Robin is a polite, proper, and friendly individual to a fault, embodying the image of an Edwardian gentleman from when he was alive. This sometimes causes others to view him as perhaps a little stiff, a bit of a prude, or downright snobbish even. However, once Robin has met and befriended someone, he will adopt a far more casual demeanour.
Mind you, he will still hold to the base rules of etiquette from his time.
Moreover, Robin is known for being exceptionally courageous, generous, compassionate and selfless, to the extent that he would sacrifice himself for a stranger. But this portrayal is far from being the truth. Robin’s vampirism not only raises doubts about the sincerity behind these qualities, but calls into question their frequency.
In reality, Robin would never prioritise the lives of others over his own parasitical existence. His perceived selflessness is merely a remnant of his human life, occasionally resurfacing.
Also, as a creature of darkness, Robin can be sadistic, cold, spiteful, and full of anger and hate, especially at times when he has not fed or someone has wronged him in some way. And at times when he has not killed for a long period of time, he will long to do so.
Taking a life then becomes an obsession for Robin, a need that must be met.
Lastly, Robin generally feels less, describing it as 'having the emotions but not being able to properly feel them'. This is why he feels shame when he takes a life, but doesn't regret it.

He hates what he is, or so he tells himself. But... does he?

An unfortunate mix
A freak of the supernatural

It is the year 1894, and Mina, a young schoolmistress and fiancée of Jonathan Harker, has just received disturbing news that her beloved has been found wounded and delirious on the banks of some wild river in Budapest. She also learns that he’s being taken care of in a monastery, so she travels and joins him there.

Mina cares for him during his recovery from his horrible, traumatic encounter, and the two return to England, now bonded in holy matrimony, having gotten married there in Budapest. Back home, they learn of the dreadful news that Lucy had died from a mysterious illness stemming from a wild animal's attack - the animal, they learn, was none other than Dracula, who had begun his terror in the small coastal town of Whitby, before moving on to London. Mina and Jonathan eventually join the coalition around Abraham Van Helsing, and together they turn their attention to destroying the unholy fiend. They do this by first visiting and destroying the various hideouts that Dracula had set up all across London, to lay waste to his power base and lure him out. In the process, they slay many of his vampire servants.

After Dracula learns of this plot against him, he takes revenge by visiting - and biting - Mina at least three times. Dracula also feeds Mina his blood, dooming her to become a vampire upon her death.

As time progresses, Mina slowly succumbs to the blood of the vampire that flows through her veins, switching back and forth from a state of consciousness to one of semi-trance, during which she is telepathically connected with Dracula and starts to show symptoms of vampirism. However, this connection to the leech is used against him when Mina uses her inherent telepathic abilities to track Dracula's movements, allowing the vampire hunters to take down Dracula’s hideouts more efficiently one by one and also locate the dark lord himself.

Having vastly underestimated the humans, the king vampire flees back to his castle in Transylvania, followed by Van Helsing and the others. After a grand battle, they manage to slit his throat and pierce his evil heart with a knife just before sundown, when he would have become invincible. And as a result, Dracula's spell is lifted, and Mina is freed from the curse. Though unknown to her and those around is that, the curse had not been lifted; it had simply been transferred to another. As Mina had been pregnant throughout the ordeal with Dracula, the devil's blood now had mixed with Robin's...

Roughly seven months later, baby Robin was born. And he was perfectly normal. He spent the first few years as all babies do, screaming and crying with short intervals of sweet quietness when all his ever-shifting needs were miraculously met. And when Robin entered childhood, learning to walk, to talk, he turned out to be an overall happy and playful young boy overall, one who met the world with a positive attitude and a curious mind. He even got to enjoy having a sister and brother, twins, born around the time that he was five, named Charlotte and Graham. In short, Robin had a relatively normal, happy childhood and displayed no 'symptoms' of his tainted blood throughout. Things did seem to change somewhat in his early teenage years, though only in the way that is common with some teens. Meaning that he would sometimes disobey his parents and spend many nights out with the lads, hanging around the less reputable parts of town. This was a passing phase, however, and Robin entered his late teens as a calm and collected individual, on the surface well-mannered and educated, as expected of an upper-class Edwardian man. The perfect disguise to mask the heavy secret that he carried. One that, if known to the world at large, would earn him a one-way ticket to the madhouse or jail cell. What was the secret? Well, Robin was a homosexual. A criminal, sinner, and madman.

Initially, it confused him and made him question himself and his own character as a whole, but after much soul-searching, he knew that in his heart, he was still him and not possessed by any demons or devils. No matter what anyone told him, not that the subject was ever spoken aloud. He came out to his parents sometime after that and told them what he was. This stirred first some initial disbelief, anger and confusion, coupled with disappointment. But in the end, they told him that they still did love him and that they didn't think any less of him than before, and that they would carry his secret dutifully to their graves. Times were good for a time after that, and Robin got accepted to attend the University of London, where he would study to become a realtor like his father. But he never went...

On the 4th of August 1914, on a sunny afternoon, Robin and his parents learned that Great Britain would join the Great War after the expiration of an ultimatum to Germany. And as a result, all across the country, families were being split apart as men went into service, fighting for King and Country. Robin himself signed up willingly, utterly ignorant of the carnage he was willingly casting himself into. He went into training alongside what would be his fellow squad mates, where he learned how to shoot, and he learned how to fight. He made good friends there, especially with one in their merry band of soon-to-be soldiers they called 'Baby Boy', Timothy Holmes, for he was the youngest amongst them. Together they laughed and joked and talked whenever they could. Timothy and Robin, they were inseparable.

It all changed, however, one night, as a kiss was shared between the two when nobody was looking. Butterflies in their stomachs, they realised their relationship had deepened into something more than friendship. And so, in secret, and certainly against their better judgement, they started a romantic relationship as one man would a woman. Whenever they could, they would be with one another. A few measly weeks is all they had in relative peace. The war machine was ever so eager to spit them and their squad into battle. And so they went into chaos and war, their training complete. Their days were now spent around fire and ash, followed by death on all sides, with a permanent smell of gunpowder permeating the air. Their nights, however, would be spent huddled up together in the dark, holding each other tight when no one was watching as bombs fell around them and gunshots sounded near.

And so the war dragged on, and by the grace of whatever force kept watch over them, they were spared the grim fate of many of their mates who died gruesomely. That is, until Lady Luck no longer favoured them. On a mission to secure a village from German control, a grenade thrown at Robin's feet exploded, sending a cascade of shrapnel into him, shredding his skin like paper and turning his internal organs into unrecognisable mush.

Darkness took him after that, and everything was silent, still, for such a very long time until he heard Timothy's voice from afar, like a distant echo. He was crying.

Robin felt so weak. So thirsty. Drained.

In his dream, he crawled towards the sound of Timothy's voice, towards the one that made him feel safe, warm and loved. And soon, he was embraced and heard from the other joyous laughter as they clung to each other's bodies again. A kiss was placed tentatively on Timothy's neck, and the voice became an echo no more, as it came to him now in the form of a scream of fear and pain. The body in Robin's arms now wriggled like a fish on a hook, and the screams filled his entire being. As did warmth, strength and life, bit by bit, the longer he held on. The longer the embrace, the stronger he felt.

He couldn't stop, did not want to.

Robin woke up with a violent, bloody cough, warm red liquid pooling in his mouth, drizzling down his lips. He swallowed, and what followed was an explosion of sensations, as if every part of his being was surging with radiating, intoxicating power. It was a pleasure that went deeper than anything he had ever felt before, and it filled his entire soul with life.

But the feeling of good and contentment was not to last because at his feet, crying in agony and with a gaping wound at his neck and slowly dying... was Timothy.

"Robin, it is the tendency of these mortals to rationalise what they can,
and forget what they cannot.
Do not dwell on what they say, for their words will not survive the centuries as you now will."
